More Space Without Moving
Buildda Tip
Before committing to a room addition, check your lot coverage and setback requirements with your local planning department. Many LA-area properties are already close to the maximum allowed lot coverage, which limits how much you can build outward. If your lot is maxed out on the ground, a second-story addition might be your best option - but the existing structure needs a structural evaluation first. We always verify these constraints before starting design work so you do not pay for plans that cannot get permitted.

Our Process
We visit your property to assess setback requirements, zoning, lot coverage, and structural feasibility. You learn what is possible on your specific lot before spending money on plans.
Architectural plans are drawn to match your existing home style. A structural engineer designs the foundation and framing. We coordinate both so the addition integrates properly.
We submit plans to your local building department for review. LA-area plan check can take several weeks depending on the jurisdiction and complexity. We handle all corrections and resubmittals.
The foundation is poured and inspected, then framing goes up. This is when the addition takes physical shape. Roof tie-in to the existing structure happens at this stage.
HVAC ductwork, electrical circuits, and plumbing lines are roughed in. Insulation is installed after rough-in inspections pass. This stage involves multiple city inspections.
Drywall, flooring, paint, trim, fixtures, and exterior finishes complete the space. We schedule the final inspection, obtain your certificate of occupancy, and walk you through the finished addition.
