We walk the site with you, discuss the walkway scope, and plan the brick sourcing approach. For reclaimed brick work, we map out which salvage yards to visit before signing so there are no surprises on lead time.

New brick orders through a supplier take 1-3 weeks. Reclaimed brick can take visits to 10+ salvage yards until we find a matching batch. This is the step that takes real time on reclaimed work.

Brick sourced, sorted for color and size, and staged for install.
We remove the existing walkway or ground cover, excavate to proper depth (typically 6-8 inches), and address any settling from removed trees or old structures with compacted clean fill in lifts.

Clean, stable sub-grade ready for drainage grading.
We set the drainage slope using a rotating laser level. Slope is designed so water sheds off the walkway but the path feels level underfoot. This is the difference between a walkway that lasts and one that pools water.

Laser-verified drainage slope that sheds rain without feeling pitched.
Compacted aggregate base goes down, followed by a mortar or sand setting bed. Mason guide strings keep alignment true. Each brick is set, tapped level, spaced against its neighbors, and cut to fit edges and curves.

Precise, stable brick pattern on a solid compacted base.
Joints are filled with polymeric sand or mortar. Optional sealing protects the bricks and stabilizes the joints. We compact the finished surface, sweep excess material, and do a final walk-through with you.
